The Tour Operators Association of Papua New Guinea (TOAPNG) was formed in April 2005 to foster development of the tour operating sector in PNG. The Association has full time secretariat and presents small to medium sized tour operators who are paid up members, located in various parts of Papua New Guinea. The Association has a functioning Executive Committee.

The TOAPNG is an association representing its members in Papua New Guinea and plays a vital role to bring tour operations in PNG to a marketable standard at an international level.

Our objectives are focused on developing the local tour industry as outlined below:

1. Foster the development of Tour Industry in Papua New Guinea
   
   
2. Establish, implement and maintain a reputable standard in the tour industry in PNG.
   
   
3. Provide training and development opportunities for members and their employees.
   
   
4. Develop and encourage networking/interaction for members and stakeholders using local and distribution network that will help provide work opportunities to improve the livelihood of a community.
   
   
5. Encourage and assist in marketing and promotion opportunities for members in local, district, regional and national level throughout PNG.
   
   
6. Co-operate with and initiate actions to ensure the conservation of the environment, culture and social integrity of communities are respected by all parties.
   
   
7. Co-operate, affiliate or act in consent with any association, company or body to assist in or facilitate the fulfilment of the objectives of the Association.
   
   
8. Provide a representative body at TPA and PNGTIA.
   
   
9. Do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objectives where such action do not contravene legislation whether local or national.
   

The association is a non-profit organisation representing the interests of all its members in Papua New Guinea. TOAPNG membership is made up of all tour operators both Full Affiliate and Associate.
